We Are Nowhere & It’s Now

Building Highways…

“We need to teach the next generation”.
Fergal Smith isn’t an average surfer. Having grown up on an organic vegetable farm in Ireland, Fergal learned the importance of family, food and a healthy lifestyle from a young age.

Despite travelling far and wide in search of waves, Fergal remains true to his roots and continues to live in Ireland to this day, having established a community garden on his farm, Moy Hill. Desillusion editor Pierre David spent 4 days with Fergal in his hometown of County Clare to gain a deeper insight into Fergal’s world and the importance of living a self sustaining and happy life.

From surfing huge waves to endorsing organic farming, Fergal Smith is undoubtedly one of the most inspiring human beings alive and a unique surfer.

This short film is based on the article “It’s a long way from Clare to here” published on Desillusion Magazine 48
